High upon bleak, lifeless cliffs, overlooking the relentless slavework of the ocean tides,
there rise the ruins of an Age-old Cathedral, where once Holy Men both purified the damned
and set free the accursed. That was long, long ago, and some ancient evil has taken root
in the hallowed halls and sanctuaries of stone. Roads bent away from this accursed place
as the trees bend away from the four winds. Ships on the waves below steered themselves
into the rocks further put to sea lest they be washed up on the headland under the shadow
of the ruins and suffer a fate far worse. Peasant rumors patched the holes in the
crumbling walls with grim faces and idols of evil untold, and still to this day they peer
through the fog at any who approach the gates . . .
