Land Based Questions And Answers
Q) When using Tables 113 in the Caribbean Book or 133 in the Mediterranean Book, how many times does one get to roll to add to his ransom value? A) Roll until a duplicate number on the dice (not duplicate result) comes up, then count that final factor in and then cease to roll.
Q) How does one go about buying jewels in town? A) Changing one's coins into gems and jewelry is wise as far as 'lightening the load' as it were, and one can simply spend as much as he wants, acquiring whatever jewels in whatever combinations he will, up to a value of 1200 gold apiece. However, there is a risk in this as well, that a pickpocket could take a lot more from a Character with a single stroke, as all gems and items of jewelry are essentially the equivalent of 1 gold for modifying Pilfering Checks. And, make no mistake about it, if a Character has jewels, an NPC will go for those before anything else he may be carrying.
Q) Can a Player Character train an animal on his own? A) As all animals are trained by other humans, a PC can certainly train animals himself, and indeed save himself the fees thereby, however, as this is not his normal business (that would be pirateering) it will take him threefold the amount of time to do so. |
